Description:

Individuals with the ideas, knowledge and drive to develop and deliver compelling exhibitions. A variety of roles are available within a successful exhibitions team, from creative designers and researchers to reliable hands for production, set-up and eventually take down of materials and displays.

Skills:

· artistic, design, communications, presentation or learning resource experience

· familiarity with or willingness to learn graphics tools and techniques

· strong interest in current environmental topics and issues

Essential:

· excellent organisation and planning skills

· able to work cooperatively as part of a team

· willingness to pitch in to get the job done

· compliance with Centre policies and health & safety procedures

Likely tasks:

· planning the visual aspects of the exhibition – venue lay-out, displays, leaflets, posters

· researching facts and content for the exhibition

· acquiring (find, recycle, buy) needed materials and resources within a budget

· producing and arranging displays, posters, fixtures

· word-processing, mounting, cutting, gluing, laminating, pinning, blu-tacking information for display

· setting up and dismantling exhibitions; cleaning-up and preparation for storage and re-use

When:

As necessary to meet exhibition deadlines

Suggested commitment: 3 hours / week

Where:

At The Centre or possibly from home

Reports to:

Designated member of staff

References:

2 references and induction required before starting
