Description:

Individuals with ideas, knowledge and experience in the communications field are needed to help The Environment Centre develop and deliver its message to the media and the public. A variety of roles are available to promote The Centre successfully, whether focused on a newsletter, the website, publicity or public relations.

Skills:
|
· excellent written and verbal communications skills
· good networking, interviewing and research skills
· familiarity with local media
· possible website development or maintenance background
· possible photography background
|
|
|
|
|
Essential:
|
· excellent organisation and planning skills
· ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
|
|
|
|
|
Likely tasks:
|
· report on Centre news, exhibitions and events
· edit, arrange, produce and distribute a regular newsletter
· research and write relevant articles for the website or newsletter
· write press releases
· work with staff on liaising with the press and local media
· arrange press/photo opportunities
· work with staff and trustees to ensure The Centre’s message reaches a larger audience
